Representations and regularities for solutions to BSDEs with reflections

چکیده
In this paper we study a class of backward stochastic differential equations with reflections (BSDER, for short). Three types of discretization procedures are introduced in the spirit of the so-called Bermuda Options in finance, so as to first establish a Feynman–Kac type formula for the martingale integrand of the BSDER, and then to derive the continuity of the paths of the martingale integrand, as well as the C-regularity of the solution to a corresponding obstacle problem. We also introduce a new notion of regularity for a stochastic process, which we call the ‘‘L-modulus regularity’’. Such a regularity is different from the usual path regularity in the literature, and we show that such regularity of the martingale integrand produces exactly the rate of convergence of a numerical scheme for BSDERs. Both numerical scheme and its rate of convergence are novel. r 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. MSC: primary 60H10, secondary 34F05, 90A12

BSDE representations for optimal switching problems with controlled volatility
This paper provides two different strong BSDE representations for optimal switching problems in the case where the dynamics of the underlying diffusion process depends on the current value of the switching mode. These new representations make use of either one-dimensional constrained BSDEs with jumps or multidimensional BSDEs with oblique reflections, thus extending the framework considered by ...
متن کاملA Note on Existence and Uniqueness for Solutions of Multidimensional Reflected Bsdes
The theory of Backward Stochastic Differential Equations (BSDEs for short) offers a large number of applications in the field of stochastic control or mathematical finance. Recently, Hu and Tang [4] introduced and studied a new type of BSDE, constrained by oblique reflections, and associated to optimal switching problems. Via heavy arguments, Hamadène and Zhang [3] generalized the form of these...
متن کاملProgressive enlargement of filtrations and Backward SDEs with jumps
This work deals with backward stochastic differential equation (BSDE) with random marked jumps, and their applications to default risk. We show that these BSDEs are linked with Brownian BSDEs through the decomposition of processes with respect to the progressive enlargement of filtrations. We prove that the equations have solutions if the associated Brownian BSDEs have solutions. We also provid...
متن کاملA note on the existence of solutions to Markovian superquadratic BSDEs with an unbounded terminal condition
In [17], the author proved the existence and the uniqueness of solutions to Markovian superquadratic BSDEs with an unbounded terminal condition when the generator and the terminal condition are locally Lipschitz. In this paper, we prove that the existence result remains true for these BSDEs when the regularity assumptions on the terminal condition is weakened.
متن کاملConvexity bounds for BSDE solutions, with applications to indifference valuation
We consider backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs) with a particular quadratic generator and study the behaviour of their solutions when the probability measure is changed, the filtration is shrunk, or the underlying probability space is transformed. Our main results are upper bounds for the solutions of the original BSDEs in terms of solutions to other BSDEs which are easier to sol...
